The Conscience
Having faith in Maitreya is in essence having faith in our conscience. In its simplest form, the spiritual soul of the Creator of all things resides within each of us – as our conscience. All humans have the purest, the brightest, and most fundamentally virtuous conscience. A sincere recognition of conscience would not only liberate us from blind attachment to things, but would also secure within us a deep assurance that we possess, inherently, the most sacred source of spiritual empowerment, that is forever present to guide us. When we follow our conscience, our actions naturally benefit others.
We would rather be at a disadvantage than do things that cause harms to others.
