Volunteer Work
On an annual basis, the Providence Maitreya volunteers enjoy going and help “keep Vancouver clean”. This is a project organized by the city of Vancouver where groups are given appropriate gear, such as garbage bags, tongs and gloves, to clean a certain neighbourhood or area in Vancouver. Due to our philosophy of being in harmony with nature, our volunteers look forward to this annual event.
The group has also volunteered in Queen Alexandra Elementary school in 2007 and 2008, giving free joyful exercise lessons to children in the school. The children then went on to perform the joyful exercise to teachers and students of the school.
The Providence Maitreya Volunteer group also performs Joyful exercises and Nature songs to community centres, neighborhood houses and senior homes around the are to spread joy and happiness to the community.
